Mahy Oefenpleinstraat
Project description
The roots of the Mahy family’s car empire also lie in the working-class district of Moscou, known from the film Aanrijding in Moscou. On a site next to the exit complex on the E17, where old-timers and stock cars used to be stored, the Mahy family developed a brand-new SME park.
The buildings constantly change color due to the iridescent effect of the facade panels. The park consists of small and medium-sized units and also contains a restaurant and office space serving the users of the park.
Danny Horseele’s new restaurant (Moscou by Horseele) functions as a stepping stone for young talent and received a score of 15.5 from Gault Millau merely months after opening.
The office space accommodates a dual use: on the one hand, due to its strategic location in Ghent on the E17, it functions as a co-working space, and on the other hand, the space provides the necessary administrative space for the users of the SME park.
